Mark Todd CBE |
Mark was voted “Rider of the 20th Century” by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). Born in rural Cambridge in the heart of the Waikato, Mark is considered by his peers to be the consummate three-day-event horseman. He is the holder of two Olympic gold medals (on Charisma at Los Angeles and Seoul in 1984 and 1988). He won the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials on three occasions and the Burghley three-day trials five times. He also won gold as a member of the New Zealand team at the World Championships in Stockholm (1990) and Rome (1998) as well as the European Championships (1997). He has become a familiar face at racetracks where his thoroughbreds have enjoyed success, including wins in the Wellington Cup and New Zealand Oaks. Mark’s autobiography “So Far So Good” is a popular bestseller among the international equestrian scene. Eight years after he retired in Sydney, Mark announced his intention to return to eventing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His comeback to riding has been sponsored by New Zealand Bloodstock.

Peter Lee |
Peter is currently the Deputy Mayor of the Waipa District Council which includes the towns of Te Awamutu and Cambridge. Peter operates a busy consultancy business based in Cambridge and has a strong background in marketing and promotions both in Taupo and Cambridge. Peters background Served 30 years in the NZ Fire Service 4th term on the Waipa District Council Chairman/member on numerous Cambridge/ Waipa committees

Karyn Fenton-Ellis |
Karyn Fenton-Ellis' career has been very diverse by choice, ranging from broadcasting, communications and politics to international leadership. She is an accomplished public speaker (winner of the World Public Speaking Competition in the UK in 1989) and since 1997, has been the Group Sponsorship and Public Relations Manager for TOWER Limited. In 1992 Karyn became an inaugural presenter of the television racing channel Trackside - a role that she continues today hosting " NZ Retro" as well as special events. In 2005 she became an inaugural announcer on the Radio Trackside network. Karyn stood for Parliament in the 1996 General Election, narrowly missing being elected. She was elected Junior Chamber International (Jaycee) World President for 2000 in Cannes, France in 1999 making her only the second woman to be hold this international leadership position in 80 years. As World President she travelled to over 100 nations and territories throughout the world meeting political, corporate and community leaders - she speaks three languages. She was also a New Zealand Government representative at the UN Conference on Women/NGO Forum in Beijing, China in 1995. Currently Karyn resides at Te Akau in the Waikato with her husband David Ellis. She is herself a breeder and owner of thoroughbreds, a mother of two teenage daughters and proud owner of three dogs.

Peter Duncan |
Peter Duncan is a partner in Hamilton law firm Tompkins Wake. After practicing at partner level in Auckland for more than twenty years, Peter moved to the Waikato in 2006 to join the Tompkins Wake team. Peter has significant experience in advising on asset and business structures and management, trusts, succession planning, farming and rural issues, and land development. Peter has presented several seminars on a range of property related issues for the Auckland and Waikato Bay of Plenty Law Societies and the NZ Law Society - most recently co-presenting a paper on farm subdivision to the NZLS Rural Law conferences in Christchurch and Hamilton. Outside of work, Peter has a passion for Celtic Music and is involved with the Hamilton Caledonian Society's Pipe Band. He lives with his wife Katrina and son Fraser on a small lifestyle block near Cambridge.

Noel Power |
Noel is a partner at Hamilton Veterinary Services. He is a fulltime equine veterinary practitioner with interests in all aspects of horse medicine. He is regularly on duty on racedays for the Waikato Racing Club at Te Rapa racecourse and for other equine events. He has a particular interest in providing educational opportunities for people within the equine industry, including local farriers, Equine Academy members and clients in general. He is currently Secretary of the Equine Branch of the New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZEVA), Convenor of the Farrier Liaison Subcommittee within NZEVA and represents NZEVA on the board of the New Zealand Equine Research Foundation (NZERF).
